BriteDoor ("we," "us," or "our") operates britedoor.com, a Houston-area real estate platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using BriteDoor you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account via Clerk (our authentication provider), we collect your name, email address, phone number, and any profile details you provide. If you sign in with Google or another OAuth provider, we receive basic profile data from that provider.

Contact and transaction data. Agents and brokers using BriteCRM may input contact details (name, email, phone, address) and transaction information on behalf of their clients. That data is stored on our behalf and subject to their own agreements with clients.

Property search activity. We log searches, saved properties, and favorites to personalize your experience and send relevant property alerts.

Communications. If you send a message through the site, contact an agent, or use our AI assistant, the content of those communications is stored.

Usage data. We automatically collect browser type, IP address, pages visited, referring URLs, and session duration through standard server logs.

SMS and call data. If you communicate with an agent via our SMS or dialer tools, message content and call logs may be stored in our system.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and improve the BriteDoor platform
  • Authenticate your identity and maintain your account
  • Match you with relevant property listings from the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) MLS
  • Send property alerts, market reports, and transactional emails you have requested
  • Enable real estate agents to manage client relationships through BriteCRM
  • Process and manage real estate transactions through BriteFlow
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

BriteDoor uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

4. MLS and Property Data

Property listings displayed on BriteDoor are sourced from the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) MLS through licensed data feeds. This data is provided for consumers' personal, non-commercial use and may not be used for any purpose other than to identify prospective properties for purchase.

MLS data is the property of HAR and its contributing members. BriteDoor operates under a VOW (Virtual Office Website) license and is bound by HAR IDX/VOW display rules.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and analyze site usage. You can control cookie behavior through your browser settings, though disabling cookies may affect site functionality.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell your browsing behavior to advertisers.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. CRM contact and transaction data entered by agents is retained for the duration of their subscription and for a reasonable period after termination for legal and compliance purposes. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time
  • Data portability where technically feasible

8. Children's Privacy

BriteDoor is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure through Vercel and Upstash. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of BriteDoor after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
